Tried downloading software from HP online for printer; almost completes download then says it has run into an error and has to uninstall. Tried the method of downloading from HP website and nothing seems to work. I think I need to be able to install an updated driver in order to make the installation software work?

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

Why don't you post your information with a Speccy Link.

2. If the file isn't sitting at the bottom of your screen, find the spsetup132.exe file and click on it to install it.  It would most likely be in your Downloads folder.  Uncheck any other software they trying to install.

The solution is to install all Windows 10 updates before trying to install the HP driver software. I have two brand-new identical machines with factory-installed Windows 10 on them. On the first one I tried installing all my stuff before waiting for the Windows Updates, and that was the one where I failed .. the "add a device" portion of the installation went fine and was printing a list of network activities in its effort to talk to my printer, but in the end it failed and I had the big red "X" on the final diagram that is displayed (the "X" was between the depicted router/switch and the printer). After doing Windows Updates on that machine the installation succeeded. Then with the second machine I did the Windows Updates first, and on that machine the HP installation succeeded on the first try.

Anyone with any ideas? The HP driver was updated 7/29/15 so this is not old stuff. Thanks.
