Bed and Breakfast

Am 12. März 2004 führte die Klasse 6c in der Studiobühne der Marienschule das Stück Bed and Breakfast auf. Die Aufführung war der Abschluss eines Projekts, das die Klasse im Rahmen des Englischunterrichts durchgeführt hatte. Nachdem die Schülerinnen das Buch Bed and Breakfast von Stephan Speight gelesen hatten, schrieben sie es zu einem Bühnenstück um, beschafften Requisiten und malten das Bühnenbild im Kunstunterricht.

Eltern, Lehrer und Mitschülerinnen spendeten nach der gelungenen Aufführung viel Applaus.

The story:

The Stones, a one-parent family, opens a Bed and Breakfast guesthouse in Kingsbridge, a little village near the sea. When they see the house first it is old and shabby, but Mrs Stone and her two children Martin and Tracy repair everything and paint the walls. Later many guests come to the Eddystone Guesthouse. First there is an American couple, later the Schröders come from Germany. There is M. Bernhard, a French architect, who helps the Stones with their garden and there are Kim and Terry, two thin and pale girls who spend all their money on games of chance in an amusement arcade.

Finally at the end of summer there are no more guests, so the Stones can go on a camping holiday. But after one day at the seaside in Cornwall the

weather is really bad, so

they decide to spend the rest of their holiday in a Bed and Breakfast - and that is much better than a camping holiday.
