Es gibt auf unserer schönen Erde ungefähr 100 Millionen Arten dekorativer Betonobjekte. Erfasst und bekannt sind aber nur ungefähr 1,8 Millionen. Diese außergewöhnliche Dokumentation kann da in anderthalb Minuten selbstverständlich nicht Abhilfe schaffen, sondern nur eine Auswahl der schönsten Beton-Schnecken und -Schildkröten zeigen. Doch bietet sie erstaunlicherweise noch mehr: ein Psychogramm des Betonbewohners etwa, und eine Mahnung, den verschwindenden Baustoff Beton wertzuschätzen, der heute zunehmend von Holz und Glas verdrängt wird.

There are approximately 100 million types of decorative concrete objects in our beautiful world. But only about 1.8 million are recognized and documented. Of course, this extraordinary documentary can’t really offer much in the way of help for this issue in one and a half minutes, but it can show a selection of concrete snails and turtles. And yet somehow, it amazingly manages to offer more: Something resembling a personality profile for the concrete inhabitants of earth and a warning to the viewer to value the disappearing concrete – as it is increasingly being threatened by glass and wood these days.
