Die Sonne ist schon lange erloschen. Durch die andauernde Finsternis streifen Männer in Schutzanzügen auf der Suche nach Plastik, dem kostbarsten Gut der Gegenwart. Die junge Gaia, die allein bei ihrem Großvater lebt, hat noch nie den Wald oder das Meer gesehen – doch zum Glück besitzt ihr Opa noch einen alten Diaprojektor, der Hoffnungsschimmer aus früheren Tagen an die Wand wirft. Eine verstörende Dystopie, die mit wenigen, tiefschwarzen Strichen eine postapokalyptische Welt ausmalt, die leider nicht unvorstellbar weit entfernt scheint.

The sun has long since disappeared. In the constant darkness, men in protective clothing are scouring the landscape for plastic, the most valuable commodity of the age. Young Gaia, who lives alone with her grandpa, has never seen the forest or the sea, but luckily her grandpa still has an old slide projector which throws hopeful images from days gone by onto the wall. The short depicts an unsettling dystopia which paints a picture of a post-apocalyptic world with a few, very dark strokes. Unfortunately, the world presented doesn’t seem so far removed from reality.
