The ECI meets once a month (usually on the third Monday) in the Clubräume of the Schloss in Muenster at 7:30 p.m.
The English Club International (ECI) provides an opportunity for those who want to speak English together to do so in a relaxed and lively atmosphere. In addition to informal presentations (at our monthly meetings), the ECI also sponsors a number of interesting events throughout the year where club members can speak English and get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. These events include an annual barbecue and a Christmas party, among other activities. About 6 times a year, the Club sponsors talks (often with slides and overhead projection) on a variety of themes ranging from the culture and customs of other peoples to ancient history to the latest in astronomical research. The Club also tries to show one unusual film in English annually, typically a film that did not show in the German theatres. There are also numerous opportunities above and beyond Club meetings to meet with other Club members, such as going to the theatre or a concert together. The Club is politically neutral and welcomes anyone interested in communicating in English with people from other countries and with English-speaking Germans. Members come from a wide geographical spectrum, including Britain, Ireland, Canada, America, South Africa and other African countries, the Philippines, India, Poland, some eastern European countries and Germany, among other countries. Our membership fees are modest (€ 20 a year) and there are special rates for students and for couples. |
