„Mini Minutes - The Short Film Festival" is a festival project that is devoted to the presentation and support of independent low-budget videos.

„Mini Minutes - The Short Film Festival" provides a public platform that serves not only the collective consumption of the media, the observer's enjoyment and the sensual pleasure of vision but also is intended to encourage exchange and stimulation. In this way a sociable and social alternative to the tendency towards a strongly individualized film consumption in the internet and on DVDs is presented.

The goal of the festival is to bring the short form of videos from the hard disk, cassettes, CDs, DVDs and the video portals to the large screen. The "short form" makes it possible to present and view a condensed artistic statement.

Similar to the way the medieval miniature paintings created a new space in the margin for the bizarre and profane, the miniature form of videos also allows for the incidental and accidental, the playful and the barb. By transferring the small format to the large screen the experimental character of the genre is accentuated. In this way the space of the movie theater becomes a laboratory for forms of presentation and ideas, thus providing a place in which new creations can be synthesized.

Furthermore, Mini Minutes wants to become a celebration of viewing. "Mini Minutes - The Short Film Festival" adds a new facet that in this form has not yet been present in Münster's exceedingly lively film landscape. The festival addresses itself to independent video producers having an artistic focus. The contributions are to be 10 minutes long at the maximum. The genres being sought are documentation, stories, fiction, animation as well as mixed forms of these.

The submitted videos will be judged by a jury and awards will be granted. Prizes in the form of certificates will be given.
