- F.I.U. Forschungsprojekt Klasse Beuys, Düsseldorf, Akademie -
>Raum 20< war - neben Raum 19 und 13,bzw. 3 und 43- zwischen 1961 und 1978 der Hauptraum der Klasse Beuys an der Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.
Auf den folgenden Internetseiten zeigen wir Photos aus der Zeit und bitten um Hinweise zur Benennung der Personen und Geschehnisse. Dazu bitte die Nummer des Photos notieren und die Personen nach Nummer von links nach rechts benennen.

Wir wenden uns an alle ehemaligen Studenten von Joseph Beuys und Besuchern der Beuys Klasse an der Düsseldorf Akademie, die im Besitz des Foto-Materials von dieser Periode, 1961/74 . Im Laufe der letzten Jahre sind, haben viele Kollegen angezeigt, dass sie solches Foto-Material haben, und sie suchten nach einem möglichen Schicksal.
Die F.I.U. Amsterdam hat es sich zum Ziel gemacht, dieses

Der ganze Text wird auch auf Englisch übersetzt. Das Copyright bleibt beim Autor. Fotos werden unter dem Fotografen verzeichnet ,Name und Verbindung mit Ihrer Webadresse. Text in englishEXPLANATION OF THE PROJECT:
Room 20 was the main space of the class of Beuys in the National Academy of Arts Dusseldorf between 1961 and 1978. On these internet pages we show photos from the time and ask you for tips to the naming of the persons and events. This is an open project that only starts to live by your activity .
Beuys had been Professor for >Large Sculpture<at the "Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf" from 1961 until 10-10 1972, the day on which he is discharged by the Education Minister Johannes Rau, for political reasons. Together with his students Beuys occupies the secretary's office of the Art Academy to contest the decision about the enrolment of students who have been refused admittance. He refers to a previous Senate decision which states that every teacher has the right to admit as many students to his, or, her, class as he, or she, sees fit. The sacking of Beuys is the beginning of a long legal and ideological dispute which is finally settled in favour of Beuys, with a judgement handed down at the highest legal level. The Beuys class is a site of transformation for a whole generation of outstanding artists - Sigmar Polke, Tadeus, Blinky Palermo, Katharina Sieverding, Reiner Ruthenbeck, Jörg Immendorf, Lothar Baumgarten, Immi Knoebel, Michael Rutkowsky, Anatol, Walter Dahn, Felix Droese, Johannes Stüttgen, Anselm Kiefer, and so on. The Beuys Klasse has several classrooms or working spaces at its disposal. Classroom 20 is one of the largest and becomes a central meeting place. The weekly 'group discussions' in which everyone is seated in a circle and accessible to everyone attracts a very diverse audience, especially on Friday, they are eagerly awaited meetings that no one likes to miss, and everyone is invited to make an active contribution, either in the form of an art-work, by commentary, suggestions or participating in the discourse.

Research project Beuys Class Düsseldorf Academy - making the secrets productiveAppeal to all former students of Joseph Beuys and visitors to the Beuys class at the Düsseldorf academy who are in possession of photo material from this period, 1961/74 Over the past years many colleagues have indicated they have such photo material and they were looking for a possible destiny.
The F.I.U. Amsterdam has made it its aim to coordinate and assemble this important art historical material and make it available to students
throughout the world as F.I.U. image/data bank. For this purpose we kindly request a copy of any available photo documentation.
Also your remarks, memories and notes on photos are important in helping to identify persons or an artwork. Your information will be added to the photos. All text will be translated also in English. The copyright stays with the author. Photos will be listed under the photographer¹s name and link with your web address.
