The Uluru is situated in the middle of Australia.

It is a giant monolith and the most fascinating as well, because it changes its colour several times a day.
The monolith consists of grey grit and is placed amidst the great, red desert. In this area the wind is blowing very strongly and this is the reason why the Uluru is getting dusty and red-coloured.

It is 4,5 km long, 2,5 km wide and 348,7 m high, but most of it is still hidden in the ground.

The Uluru is a relic of the Aborigines and climbing on it is only allowed for Aboriginal ceremonies.

Nevertheless hundreds of tourists do it every day. Most of them cannot stand the height of the hill and heat up there. That’s why many of those tourists become ill of the heat. Especially for them there was built a hospital that entangles murderous sums of money.

Along the Uluru there are many holy places. Some of them are specially for women and some of them are specially for men. There they celebrate their women-hood/men-hood rites.

There are also caves with very old wall-paintings.

And the most interesting fact is that every place has its own history and accompanying dance.
